These are the best pies just about anywhere. If you are a pie afficionado and in Cairns you need to come here. Pastry is perfect,just the right density and the fillings are just quality and plentiful. They cost a little more but are worth every cent. Can't go past here when in the city without getting one.

Look, I love a great pie more than most people; a pie hound. This was the third visit to Meldrum's and today it was actually open! I had the steak, garlic and pepper with mushy peas. After a few minutes I thought that the end of the granulated garlic bottle had come off and fallen into the pie and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. It took me half an hour to eat it, realising after being shaken by my partner, that I hadn't died at all! Tremendous. It's night time now and I'm still not hungry.

Quite simple really the one stop shop for comfort food!Came here almost every day gorgeous pies, mash potato, mushy peas (better than my Mum's) and the most flavourful gravy you would want to eat, boy THAT gravy was so good I'd happily drink it out of a glass if there was any left over, which there wasn't.From savoury to sweet, lovely apple pies and meringues, if you sit here, you'll see the world go by, from your local police officer's to office workers they all start their day here, so here you know it must be good right?

Best pies ive ever had. Steak Diane, garlic sauce mushroom, mushroom and pepper steak absolutely amazing. The wife loves the curry chicken and Moroccan lamb fantastic pies. Go even better with peas, mash potato and gravy

Great bakery to sit down and eat some quality dishes. Pies are a good size and are very fresh. I was looking for a quality bakery when I walked passed here. I will be a regular from now on.

Really wanted a steak and kidney pie. The two times I went in the store, they didn't have any. Very disappointing. They get three stars because their sausage rolls were delicious.

Pies are fairly tasty with deliciously flaky, buttery pastry - however there just seems to be a bit much translucent goop in there - I did expect a higher, chunkier meat content and less jelly-goop in a $6.50 meat pie from a place that seems to win awards. For a dedicated pie shop, I would expect much higher quality than I've received over multiple visits.

A little more interest in the customers needs wouldn't go astray..For the tourist.without these people I think the shop would be closed..Even a nice smile would be a great start Foods ok

Amazing range of pies! All very tasty and great with the gravy, mash and pea toppings. Difficult to take a pretty photo but who cares when it tastes so good! Definitely worth a visit for lunch if you're a fan of pies 👍

We stumbled into Meldrums looking for cheesecake and we very happy that they dont sell cheesecake. Instead we had some amazing pastries and our very first meat pies! They were amazing!! Service was also impeccably awesome! A must!! Thank you!!

This place is just devine! Such a variety of flavours. My favourite is the steak, chilli & cheese. Sad that it is closing but no doubt the owner needs a well deserved break & much needed holiday with family. Thank you for the delivering the best pies in Cairns!
